Product Overview
SpaGuard® Chlorinating Concentrate is a quick-dissolving, one-step sanitizer and oxidizer for spas and hot tubs. It is a granular chlorine product made with sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione (dichlor) at 99%, and it is the main sanitizer for chlorine-maintained spas. Choose the 2 lb (907 g) bottle, part number 42614BIO, or the 5 lb size, part number 42616BIO.
Test free chlorine, pH and alkalinity first. Add the amount on the label for your spa's volume with the pump running and the spa not in use, both for routine sanitizing and for a heavier oxidizing (superchlorination) dose after heavy use. Wait until chlorine falls back to the level the label allows before anyone gets in. Dealer listings disagree on the routine dose, so measure from the bottle.
The label carries the DANGER signal word. Never mix it with other chemicals, including other chlorine products, acids or bromine, and keep it away from heat, flame and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed, out of reach of children, and read all precautions on the label before handling. It is a chlorine sanitizer; do not add it to a bromine or biguanide spa unless your sanitizer system's directions allow it.
