Sundance®/Jacuzzi® Extended-Tip Temperature Sensor, 3-Pin 12 ft – Replaces 6600-533 & 6600-751 – 6600-551
The 6600-551 is the genuine extended-tip, 3-pin water temperature sensor that Sundance® released in early 2022 as the current replacement for its 3-pin sensors. It replaces 6600-533 and supersedes 6600-751 for most spas. The sensor plugs directly into the control board on a 2-wire cable of about 12 feet and reports water temperature, so a failing sensor can cause readings that don't match the water, heating problems, or sensor-related error codes.
Dealer fitment lists include Sundance® 680™ from 2018, 780™ from April 2017, 880™ from 2016 and 980™ from October 2016, along with Jacuzzi® J-500™ from 2015, J-400™ from September 2015, J-300™ from 2016, and J-200™ and J-100™ from 2018. There is one important exception: 2016 through July 2021 Jacuzzi J-325, J-355 and J-365 models still require the 6600-751 sensor rather than this one. Spas with box-end (6600-167) or curled-finger (6600-166) connectors use different sensors.
The O-ring that seals the sensor in its housing (6540-228) is not included and should be replaced along with the sensor. Turn off power at the breaker before working on the equipment, and use a qualified technician if you're not comfortable with spa electronics.
