Sundance®/Jacuzzi® 5″ Mesh Drain Cover – Elastic Suction Debris Bag (6540-213)
The 6540-213 is a 5-inch elastic mesh cover that slips over the suction cover beneath the filter cartridge in Sundance® spas. It acts as a simple first line of defense, catching hair, leaves, insects and other debris before they can reach the suction fitting. Sundance's 880™ Series owner's manual identifies this part as the suction cover filter that sits directly beneath the cartridge and calls for cleaning it every two months.
Dealers list the 6540-213 for 2004 and newer Sundance spas and 2003–2004 Sweetwater™ spas, and it is also sold for Jacuzzi® spas with the same 5-inch drain cover. The elastic band holds it in place without tools: stretch it over the suction cover until it sits snugly, then reinstall your filter. This listing is for one cover.
To clean it, remove the filter, slip off the mesh cover, rinse it with a hose and refit it. Replace it when the elastic no longer holds tightly or the mesh is torn. Because it sits under the filter, cleaning it while you rinse or change your filter is an easy habit to build.
