Product Overview
The FROG® Serene™ Cartridge Kit (King Technology part 01-14-3856) restocks a FROG Serene system with one blue mineral cartridge (01-14-3812) and three bromine cartridges (01-14-3824). FROG rates the mineral cartridge for about 4 months, or until you drain and refill, and each bromine cartridge for about 2 to 4 weeks depending on spa size, water temperature and use. Buying them together gives you a mineral cartridge and the next few bromine refills in one box. Depending on how fast your spa uses bromine, you may need extra bromine cartridges before the 4 months are up.
The cartridges fit the FROG Serene Floating System (01-14-3883), which FROG designs for hot tubs from 150 to 600 gallons, and dealers also list them for FROG Serene in-line systems. With FROG minerals in place, FROG says you can use up to 50% less bromine than the minimum ANSI-recommended 2.0 ppm; its manual sets the ideal bromine range at 1.0 to 2.0 ppm. These cartridges don't fit FROG @ease® SmartChlor® holders.
To install, push each cartridge into its opening in the holder until it stays in place. Set the bromine cartridge dial to match your spa size, from 0 for about 200 gallons up to 6 for 600 gallons. Test daily for the first week with FROG test strips, adjusting one setting per day as needed. Keep pH between 7.2 and 7.8 and total alkalinity between 80 and 120 ppm, and shock weekly or as needed with a non-chlorine shock such as FROG Maintain™. The floating holder is not included.
