FROG® Metal Remover helps eliminate water discoloration caused by dissolved metals and prevents the stains they leave on hot tub shells and equipment. FROG says copper, iron and manganese can enter a hot tub through fill water, plumbing and equipment, and once they're in the water they can tint it or leave rust-colored, brown or green marks on surfaces. Metal Remover is formulated by FROG for hot tubs and is compatible with all sanitizing systems, including FROG @ease® and FROG Serene™.
FROG recommends using it every time you add water to the hot tub, starting with a fresh fill, so metals are treated before they have a chance to stain. The dose is 1 fl. oz. per 500 gallons, squirted directly into the water, followed by running the circulation system for 30 minutes. After start-up, use it again whenever metal deposits discolor the water. Many hot tubs hold 500 gallons or less, so one ounce covers a typical fill or top-off.
Because it works on the water rather than the sanitizer, Metal Remover fits into any routine alongside your regular sanitizer, shock and pH balancers. If you're on well water or have older copper or iron plumbing, it's especially worth adding at each fill.
