Description
The TEAR‑AID® Repair Patch Fabric Type B (Underwater) kit provides a reliable solution for patching vinyl and vinyl-coated items—perfect for swim spa liners, hot tub covers, and kayak leaks. It delivers instant adhesion underwater using its unique squeegee tool and UV-stable elastomer that remains flexible from –20 °F to 140 °F. The included transparent patches and reinforcement filament enable discreet and long-lasting repairs without the hassle of sewing or messy adhesives. A user-friendly kit designed for serious vinyl fixes—above or below water.

Product Description

  • Specifically formulated for vinyl and vinyl-coated materials, this kit’s adhesive blocks vinyl oils that degrade other adhesives—ensuring a strong, long-lasting bond underwater.

  • Designed for underwater application, thanks to the included orange Underwater Kit and squeegee—no draining required.

  • Complete contents cover all your repair needs: a 3″ × 12″ cut-to-size patch, 1 ⅜″ and ⅞″ patches, a 12″ reinforcement filament, two alcohol prep pads, instructions, and a squeegee.

  • Made with matte polyurethane elastomer, offering abrasion and puncture resistance, stretches up to 600%, and provides an airtight, watertight seal.

  • UV-resistant and stable across a wide temperature range (−20 °F to 140 °F), the patch stays clear and won’t yellow or become gummy.

  • The transparent finish lets the underlying vinyl show through, delivering discreet, virtually invisible repairs.

FAQ

Q: Can Type B be applied underwater?
A: Yes—the underwater kit (orange) includes a squeegee specifically for submerged application.

Q: Is Type B suitable for all materials?
A: No—it should only be used on vinyl or vinyl-coated materials. Non-vinyl surfaces require Type A.

Q: What temperature range does the patch handle?
A: It remains flexible and effective from –20 °F up to 140 °F, and resists UV, heat, and yellowing.

Directions

1. Clean the vinyl surface (ideally prep above water but ensure it's free of debris).
2. While submerged, position the patch with the liner partially peeled back.
3. Use the orange squeegee to press from the center outward—expelling water and air.
4. Peel off the rest of the liner underwater and smooth down the patch.
5. For above-water repairs, dry the surface, sanitize with prep pad, and apply patch as usual.
