Q: Is this system floating or in-line?

A: This is an in-line system designed for Sundance® Spas; it does not float on the surface.

Q: Which Sundance® models are compatible?

A: Sundance® 780, 880, and 980 Series spas are compatible. Some older models require the optional holder #6473-315 for installation.

Q: How does SmartChlor® work?

A: SmartChlor® automatically releases chlorine as needed to maintain a steady sanitizer level between 0.5 and 1.0 ppm, unlike traditional chlorine systems that fluctuate after each dose.

Q: How often do I replace the cartridges?

A: Replace the SmartChlor® cartridge every 3–4 weeks and the mineral cartridge every 4 months or at each water change.

Q: What are the benefits of SmartChlor® versus traditional chlorine?

A: It provides steady low-level chlorination, uses up to 75% less chlorine, and delivers softer, cleaner water with less odor and irritation.

Q: Can I use this system without the cartridge holder?

A: No. The in-line holder is required for proper operation. Use Sundance® holder #6473-315 if your spa does not already include one.

Verify that your spa is a compatible Sundance® model (780 / 880 / 980) and that the in-line cartridge holder is installed (use holder #6473-315 if needed).

Turn off spa power and stop circulation before installing the cartridges.

Test and balance pH (7.2–7.8), alkalinity (80–120 ppm), and calcium hardness (150–250 ppm) before use.

Insert the mineral cartridge into the lower slot and the SmartChlor® cartridge into the upper slot of the housing.

Restore circulation and add the included Jump Start shock packet to activate sanitization.

Allow the spa to circulate for 15 minutes with the cover open.

Test weekly using FROG® @ease test strips to monitor SmartChlor® levels.

Replace the SmartChlor® cartridge every 3–4 weeks and the mineral cartridge every 4 months or when the spa is drained.
